GM: The last things you feel are the bear’s hot breath on your face, a sharp pain somewhere, and the warmth of something also splattering on your face, probably blood or spit. Or both.
PC: I guess Nogan’s fury was too much for him.
GM: You don’t have to use the past-tense yet. This is just part of his story. He might be found by an errant hunting party. The gods might bind his soul to that of the bear. Or we could get another character rolled up for you, so you have a different part to play when everyone comes back next week.
PC: Huh. Okay, I’ll think it over.
GM: Let me know before next week, though. I want to make sure your story fits our shared narrative.
